About Us

Overview

Information technology improves and distinguishes our ability to provide premier client service. Microsoft and Cisco Systems have recognized Parker Poe as a leader in technological innovation, as have the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) and American Lawyer Media.

Parker Poe’s Information Services team gives attorneys, staff and clients the 24/7/365 access to their world of information that’s fast, secure and easy to use. The Four C’s below describe the breadth of technology services provided to our clients.

Client Extranets

Building secure, client workspaces over the Internet allows attorneys and clients to work together around the clock, from anywhere in the world, improving responsiveness and overall service quality. Through scores of client extranets, Parker Poe attorneys make a client’s work product  available for review anytime, improving collaboration in document review and editing, and reducing the flood of emails and attachments throughout the process.

Communications

Today’s communications world is cluttered with myriad devices and communication methods, from e-mail to voice to texting; cellular phones and PDAs; even video and web conferencing. Left unmanaged, this makes reaching one another even more difficult than the days when all we had was a telephone. Parker Poe’s state-of-the-art Cisco Unified Communications system provides our clients with a fast, effective way to reach our attorneys and staff, regardless of their location or their devices.

Email, documents, faxes and voicemails are sent to a central Inbox, accessible from work, home or the road through a wireless PC or PDA. Extension mobility allows attorneys to log into any phone when working from other offices, so that callers to their office number and extension reach them instantly. Business calls can also be set to ring on multiple devices at once, with seamless transfer between office and mobile phones.

Internal desktop video conferencing is also enabled for our attorneys and staff, permitting a more personal form of communication. Clients can participate in the Firm's new high-definition video conferences,  reducing travel costs while enhancing the remote meeting experience. For those working from home, airports, hotels, courtrooms or client offices, PC or laptop-based IP Communicator allows them to make and receive calls from their work phone anywhere in the world.

Collaboration

The Firm’s work product, contacts, financial and administrative information, and team collaboration sites are accessed on Parkway, our nationally-acclaimed Intranet. Parkway features comprehensive collaboration sites for departments, practice groups, offices, teams and committees, where relevant data, targeted news and internal communications are just a click away.

Parkway’s powerful enterprise search allows full text searches with relevance across all documents, contacts, blogs and internal or external news and events. Our information, regardless of the application where it resides, has been effectively “Googleized” to provide attorneys with instant access to client and case information.

Credentials

A recognized leader of technology and innovation, Parker Poe has been featured in national publications, contests and web sites. A finalist in ILTA’s 2009 “Microsoft SharePoint Innovator of the Year,” Parkway provides our attorneys access to everything from work product to contacts to financial information to targeted news and events. Our implementation of SharePoint has also been recognized by Microsoft in a featured Customer Solution Case Study and by a recent article by American Lawyer Media’s LAW.COM.

On the communications front, Parker Poe’s implementation of its Voice-over-IP phone systems with Unified Communications was chronicled in a Success Story by Cisco and its Stalwart Systems partner.
