Cindy Wittmer focuses her practice in the area of commercial litigation, with particular emphasis on business torts, intellectual property issues, contract procurement disputes, health care-related contract issues and insurance defense. She has represented numerous clients in both state and federal courts in North Carolina.

Experience Highlights

• Represents clients in business torts litigation involving claims of unfair competition, unfair trade practices and fraud
• Handled numerous disputes relating to intellectual property and other protectible business interests, including enforcement of or challenge to covenants not to compete in connection with departing employees; actions involving the misuse of trade secrets or other proprietary business information; litigation to protect copyright or trademarks rights; actions involving proprietary rights with regard to computer software
• Regularly represents both successful and unsuccessful bidders in disputes involving contracts awarded by the state or a municipality pursuant to a bid process
• Represents major health care provider groups on contract-related matters
• Routinely handles representation of various life and health insurers in interpleader actions, actions to rescind health or life insurance policies due to material misrepresentations, and actions involving insurance coverage issues
