Profile

Al Adams served five terms in the North Carolina House of Representatives where he was chairman of the House Appropriations Committee (Base Budget) and was a member of the Governor's Advisory Budget Commission. He was rated one of the House's most effective members, second only to the speaker. Since leaving the General Assembly, his effectiveness has been recognized by the North Carolina Center for Public Policy Research Poll, which has consistently singled him out as one of the most effective lobbyists before the General Assembly.

Mr. Adams is admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the United States District Court for the Eastern and Middle Districts of North Carolina.

While at the University of North Carolina, Mr. Adams was a member of the North Carolina Law Review. He also is retired from the United States Naval Reserve as a Captain, Judge Advocate General's Corp.
