Profile
Jamie Schwedler’s practice consists of zoning and land use law, real property litigation, commercial litigation, transportation law, infrastructure development, and related regulatory matters. Her litigation practice focuses on contract, real property, unfair and deceptive trade practices, and related business disputes. She also has experience representing broker-dealers and individual brokers in securities arbitrations.
Ms. Schwedler uses her prior experience as a landscape architect to advise developers and landowners on a full range of real property and development matters. Her representation has included navigating local and state regulations on real estate development, analyzing legal issues of transportation and infrastructure improvements, and advocating for specific traffic improvements. She also advises clients on the intersection of railroad law, real property rights, and contract law.
Ms. Schwedler has appeared in the district and superior courts of North Carolina. Her appellate work includes cases before the Court of Appeals of North Carolina, the North Carolina Supreme Court, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. She has also appeared in actions before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and the American Arbitration Association.
While attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law, Ms. Schwedler was an articles and notes editor for the First Amendment Law Review and served as vice president of Women in Law. Before joining Parker Poe, Ms. Schwedler was a project manager for an international landscape architecture, planning and economic development firm. Her experience as a landscape architect includes planned community design, urban revitalization design and construction, transit-oriented development, and large-scale master planning.

- Representing brokerage firms and individual brokers in securities arbitrations before FINRA
- Representing manufacturing clients in commercial arbitration before the AAA
- Advising engineers and other professionals before professional licensing boards
