Profile
Kevin Chapman's practice involves a broad range of corporate and business law issues. Mr. Chapman regularly advises clients and in-house counsel on the legal aspects of business transactions.
Prior to joining Parker Poe, Mr. Chapman was an associate in a Greensboro law firm, where his practice focused on purchase and sale of businesses, operating and shareholder agreements, and other general corporate and tax issues, including corporate and partnership tax matters. Prior to law school, he gained experience working in accounting, finance and internal audit.
Mr. Chapman was admitted to the U.S. Tax Court in 2006.
While at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Mr. Chapman was an editor of the North Carolina Journal of Law & Technology.

- Commercial contracts, terms and conditions of sale, sales representative agreements, distributorship agreements, supply agreements, and sales agreements
- Commercial transactions, involving the purchase, sale and financing of equipment, inventory and other commercial goods
- General corporate and commercial matters, including entity formation and dissolution, corporate governance, shareholders’ agreements, operating agreements, employee agreements, non-disclosure agreements, non-competition agreements and other related matters
- Negotiated transactions, including stock and asset acquisitions and dispositions, mergers, and other similar transactions for public and privately-owned companies
- Formation and corporate issues related to Section 501(c)(3) and other non-profit entities, including tax-exemption status matters
- State and local tax and economic incentives analysis for both business relocation and retention
