Matthew Jordan represents real estate developers, home builders, private corporations, governmental entities, and banks in a wide variety of land development, transportation, and infrastructure matters. His practice includes assisting clients with the transactional elements of their business deals and helping clients to obtain a favorable result in civil litigation. This cross-discipline approach gives Mr. Jordan the ability to identify potential disputes before they arise, and protect his clients’ interests during the transactional phase of a business deal.
Experience Highlights
Mr. Jordan has experience negotiating business transactions between real estate developers and home builders. He has worked closely with home builders to draft comprehensive agreements governing the development and purchase of subdivision lots. He has also assisted clients in obtaining easements, leases, and licenses to use real property and related improvements for their business operations. Mr. Jordan’s land dispute litigation experience includes assisting clients with landlord-tenant disputes and helping clients to obtain reimbursement for business relocation expenses in connection with condemnations by governmental agencies.
Mr. Jordan has assisted clients exploring renewable energy alternatives, including companies that use biomass and wind to generate electricity, by negotiating agreements with landowners and government entities necessary to secure the use of real property, allow the construction of new facilities, establish infrastructure and utility connections, and begin business operations. He has also assisted clients with litigation involving right of way disputes with railroads, private companies, and government authorities.
