Profile

Michael Almond was a partner with Parker Poe from 1984 to 1999, during which time he led the Firm’s international practice. From 1999 to 2005, he served as the president and chief executive officer of the Charlotte Regional Partnership, a non-profit, public/private consortium that supports economic development in 16 counties in North Carolina and South Carolina that constitute the Charlotte region.

In 2005, Mr. Almond was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany (Bundesverdienstkreuz) by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany for “outstanding commitment in fostering the relations between the United States and the Federal Republic of Germany.” Since 2005, Mr. Almond has served as Counsel to the Firm.

  • Assists the Firm in the areas of international business and economic development
  • Assists United States and foreign corporations and individuals with the legal aspects of both inbound and outbound transactions and investments

In addition, Mr. Almond completed a 40-hour, North Carolina State Bar-certified professional mediator training course in 2008.
