Profile
Sayera Qasim counsels clients on negotiating and documenting loan restructurings, bankruptcy, reorganization and creditors’ rights, with an emphasis in the financial services industry.
Prior to joining Parker Poe, Ms. Qasim practiced bankruptcy, labor & employment and general commercial litigation in the Memphis, Tennessee office of Adams and Reese LLP.
At the University of Memphis School of Law, Ms. Qasim was the Editor-in-Chief of The University of Memphis Law Review.
Experience Highlights
Ms. Qasim has experience advising and representing clients on a wide range of issues including:
- Documenting pre-bankruptcy loan modification and forbearance agreements
- Representing lenders in Chapter 11 cases
- Drafting motions, objections, first-day pleadings, plans of reorganization and disclosure statements
