Profile

Sidney Evering focuses his practice on the areas of public finance, economic development and local government. Prior to joining Parker Poe, Mr. Evering spent four years as an attorney with the South Carolina Association of Counties, where he advised counties statewide on various legal issues and lobbied on behalf of the Association and its member counties.

Mr. Evering serves as the Director of Diversity for the Firm. In this role, he works closely with Parker Poe’s Diversity Committee to promote and facilitate a working environment of inclusion, respect and opportunity for all employees through education, special initiatives, and hiring and retention practices.

Experience Highlights

  • Assists governmental clients, including cities, counties, school districts and public housing authorities with bond transactions to finance capital projects and operating expenses
  • Advises local governmental entities and private industry regarding various economic development matters, including fee-in-lieu of tax incentives, creation of multi-county industrial parks, tax increment financing and job tax credits
