Earlier this week, the Department of Labor ("DOL") launched a new interactive website designed to serve as a resource for employers in complying with federal employee benefit laws. The website, named ERISA Fiduciary Advisor, guides users through easy-to-use windows to navigate resources and facts about retirement plan laws.  Specifically, ERISA Fiduciary Advisor is set up to help employers and others who provide services to private sector retirement plans better understand their fiduciary responsibilities as fiduciary oversight and compliance assistance are high priorities for the DOL.

The ERISA Fiduciary Advisor provides:

  • An overview of basic fiduciary responsibilities (including the most common retirement plan mistakes according to the DOL);
  • Interactive questions and answers to better assist plan officials; and
  • Additional resource material.
