(CHARLOTTE, N.C.)—Lori R. Keeton, a Partner in the Charlotte office of Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP, was named Chair of the Mecklenburg County Bar’s (MCB) Social & Networking Committee. Ms. Keeton will serve a one-year term beginning July 1, 2012.

The Social & Networking Committee is a newly formed committee that will manage and organize social and networking opportunities to promote collegiality and a cohesive membership, including the Lawyers' Luncheon Series, as well as new networking and social opportunities. In addition, Ms. Keeton and members of the committee will evaluate the need for additional events to benefit the MCB membership as a whole.

In a letter to Ms. Keeton, MCB President, Robert Harrington said: "Based on your service, I know that you will lead this Committee to a successful and productive year. The success of our committees and sections are a direct result of active and dedicated members like you. Your involvement speaks highly of your loyalty and allegiance to the Bar and the profession of law."

Ms. Keeton is a litigator who concentrates her practice on products liability, professional negligence and insurance coverage and defense. She represents a broad range of clients including manufacturers, municipalities and their employees, insurance companies, physicians and other health care providers.

In addition to her work with the MCB, Ms. Keeton serves on the Board of Directors of Justice Initiatives, Inc., an organization formed to educate the community about the court system and to advocate, support and advance its needs and interests. She previously served as Chair and Vice-Chair of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys Government Liability Practice Group.

Ms. Keeton has been named a “Rising Star” by North Carolina Super Lawyers in Personal Injury Defense: Products. She is the Chair of Parker Poe’s Community Service Committee and has been since its inception in 2009.

Ms. Keeton received her JD, with honors, from the University of Florida and her BA, summa cum laude, from Stetson University.
