Steven Long Joins Parker Poe as a Partner in the Employment Group

(RALEIGH, N.C.)—Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP announced today that Steven B. Long joined the Firm’s Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation group in the Raleigh office. Mr. Long was previously with the law firm Williams Mullen.

Mr. Long advises businesses and individuals regarding tax and employee benefits matters. He counsels businesses regarding the design and operation of tax-qualified retirement plans, deferred compensation agreements, stock option plans and other benefit arrangements.

Additionally, Mr. Long assists individuals in their retirement and estate planning and counsels clients in the formation and operation of public charities and other tax-exempt organizations.

He has been named to Woodward/White’s The Best Lawyers in America in Employee Benefits and North Carolina Super Lawyers, 2010-2012. He was also named to Business North Carolina magazine’s “Legal Elite” in Tax, 2006-2007 and 2009-2011.

Mr. Long currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Raleigh Hall of Fame, the John William Pope Civitas Institute and Shepherds Theological Seminary. He is the past Chairman of the North Carolina Bar Association Tax Section.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Mr. Long received his BS in 1982. He earned his JD, cum laude, in 1991 and his LLM in Taxation in 1997 from Georgetown University.
