Theatre Charlotte Names Kevin Chapman Board Treasurer

(Charlotte, N.C.)—Theatre Charlotte appointed Kevin Chapman, an associate with Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP, to its Board of Directors for 2010-2012. Chapman was also elected to an officer role on the Board as Treasurer. Theatre Charlotte is the oldest continuously producing community theatre in North Carolina.

Chapman, a member of the Arts & Science Council (ASC) Young Donor Society’s Steering Committee, is a 2010 graduate of the ASC’s Cultural Leadership Training program. Program participants are selected through a highly competitive application process and complete a nine-month, hands-on training program that coaches emerging leaders on the depth of program offerings in the cultural community and educates about key roles, responsibilities and challenges of board members. After completing the program, participants transfer their leadership skills and business savvy to serve on boards of non-profit cultural organizations in Mecklenburg County. Since the program's inception, ASC has graduated nearly 100 community volunteers.

Chapman is a member of Parker Poe’s Business Law Department and regularly advises clients and in-house counsel on the legal aspects of business transactions, operations and economic development. He has a BSBA, Master of Accounting and a JD, with honors, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
