Catharine Biggs Arrowood, a partner with Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP in Raleigh, has been elected to the Board of Governors for the North Carolina Bar Association. The North Carolina Bar Association is a voluntary organization with more than 13,500 members.
Ms. Arrowood will serve a three-year term on the Board during which time she and her fellow board members will be responsible for overseeing the organization’s programs and initiatives such as professional support, continuing legal education programs and pro bono activities.
Ms. Arrowood has been practicing law for more than 30 years and focuses on “bet the company” litigation and resolution. She is a partner in Parker Poe’s Antitrust & Business Torts Practice Group. Ms. Arrowood previously served on the firm’s management committee and is currently serving as the President of the Wake County Bar Association and of the 10th Judicial District of the North Carolina State Bar. She is a Member of the American Arbitration Association’s Panel of Commercial Arbitrators and a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Ms. Arrowood has been named among The Best Lawyers in America, Business North Carolina’s “Legal Elite” and Lawdragon magazine’s “500 Leading Lawyers in America.” She received a JD, cum laude, in 1976 and a BA, cum laude, in 1973 from Wake Forest University.
