Banks Work to Pare Payrolls Without Facing Lawsuits

Parker Poe's Employment practice group leader, Jonathan Crotty, discusses the legal liability banks and financial institutions face with the recent surge in layoffs in the May 29th issue of the Charlotte Business Journal.  Crotty says banks must cut down on liability by making sure the selection criteria for layoffs will hold up legally.  They must be based on legitimate business reasons and cannot disproportionally affect one specific category.
