(RALEIGH, N.C.)—Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that Raleigh Partner, Melanie Black Dubis, has been named the Chairman of the Carolina Ballet Board of Directors. Ms. Dubis will work with other board members, as well as the community, to ensure the Ballet remains a premiere arts organization with top talent from around the world.

“We are very pleased to welcome Melanie Dubis as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors,” said Lisa Jones, Executive Director of the Carolina Ballet. “Of course, Melanie is not new to Carolina Ballet and has been a distinguished board member for many years. She brings a depth of experience that is invaluable to Carolina Ballet, and we are thrilled to have her as our Chairman. Robert Weiss, our Artistic Director and CEO, and I both look forward to working with Melanie in her new role.”

Prior to her role as board chair, Ms. Dubis, who has been a member of the Ballet’s Board of Directors since 2005, served as Co-Chair of the Ballet’s Development Committee. In that role, she worked with the Board and staff to implement a multi-year campaign for the growth and improvement of the organization - fundraising efforts that she will continue as Board Chair.

“I am honored to be named Chairman of the Carolina Ballet’s Board of Directors,” said Ms. Dubis. “The Carolina Ballet is recognized as one of the top ballet companies both nationally and internationally. I am  proud to support their mission to provide world-class performances, including innovative new choreography, for the Triangle community and beyond.”

The Carolina Ballet was launched in 1997 under the direction of artistic director Robert Weiss and serves the expanding Triangle community and the state of North Carolina. To learn more about Carolina Ballet, please visit their website at www.carolinaballet.com.
