(RALEIGH, NC) – Jamie S. Schwedler, an attorney in Parker Poe’s Raleigh office, has been selected as a member of the steering committee for the Triangle District Council of the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Women’s Leadership Initiative.
The ULI is an international nonprofit organization addressing a wide range of land use and real estate development issues, dedicated to the creation of sustainable urban communities. The Women’s Leadership Initiative plans to raise the visibility and number of women leaders in ULI and the real estate industry.
Ms. Schwedler is a member of Parker Poe’s Regulatory Department, advising landowners, developers and municipalities on disputes arising from real property and development matters. “Jamie’s background managing large scale projects in her prior career as a landscape architect gives her unique insight in providing dispute resolution support and land use advice to our real estate attorneys,” according to Jeff Bandini, leader of the Firm’s Raleigh real estate group. She now uses that background to advise clients on land use, regulatory, property tax and real property litigation matters.
Ms. Schwedler has been an active member of the ULI Triangle’s Young Leaders Group, and currently serves as its Vice Chair for Communications. In addition to her work with ULI, Ms. Schwedler is a member of the fundraising team for the Boys & Girls Club of Wake County.
Ms. Schwedler received her BLA from Clemson University and her JD at the University of North Carolina’s School of Law. Before law school, she worked with EDAW (now AECOM) as a project manager on urban revitalization and waterfront development projects along the East Coast.
