(RALEIGH, N.C.)—Patti Bartis, a Partner in the Raleigh office of Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP, has been appointed chair of the board of directors of Marbles Kids Museum. She will serve a one-year term in this role.
Ms. Bartis most recently served as vice chair of the Marbles board and as chair of the personnel committee from 2011-2012. Additionally, she was a member of the Contemporary Art Foundation’s board of directors from 2010-2012.
Ms. Bartis has more than 18 years of experience defending employers facing discrimination claims. She has handled cases arising under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, Sarbanes-Oxley and state wage and hour laws. In addition to representing employers in court and before enforcement agencies, Ms. Bartis advises clients on all aspects of employment law compliance and has extensive experience drafting, negotiating and litigating non-competition agreements. She was recognized by North Carolina Super Lawyers in Employment & Labor in 2012-2013.
Ms. Bartis received her JD, with honors, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her BA, summa cum laude, from Bucknell University.
