Parker Poe Helps Global Automotive Parts Suppliers Launch Joint Venture in North Carolina

$217 million investment creating 350 new jobs

Charlotte, NC - Attorneys with Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP have been assisting GF Linamar, LLC finalize its plans for a $217 million aluminum die casting plant to be located in Henderson County, NC that will produce state-of-the-art parts for the region’s burgeoning auto industry.

GF Linamar is a joint venture of Linamar Corporation, a Canadian company, and Georg Fischer AG, a Swiss company.  It expects to create jobs for 350 people in the manufacture of lightweight powertrain, driveline and structural components.

The company’s new workers will receive training at Blue Ridge Community College, supported by workforce assistance from the NC Community Colleges and a grant from the Golden Leaf Foundation.  The company also received a Job Development Investment Grant and a One NC Fund grant from the State of North Carolina and grants from Henderson County and the Town of Mills River.  The plant will be built in the Ferncliff Industrial Park in Mills River near the Asheville Regional Airport and is expected to begin production in mid-2017.

Based in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, Georg Fischer makes automotive parts, piping for gases and liquids, and manufacturing equipment.
