Charlotte, NC – Parker Poe announces the launch of a blog focused on the legal and regulatory changes affecting the construction industry across the Southeast.

Nailing Down the Law: Parker Poe’s Construction Law Blog features regular contributions from blog co-authors and attorneys Jenna McGee and Elliotte Quinn, as well as other members of Parker Poe’s construction team. The law affecting the construction industry is constantly developing, and attorneys in Parker Poe’s construction practice group strive to assist the industry by staying at the forefront of those developments. Parker Poe’s newest blog highlights relevant legal issues in the industry, presenting construction executives with summaries and analysis of developments likely to affect their operations.

“We are excited about the opportunity to advise on trends and changes in the industry that impact our clients’ businesses,” states Jenna McGee, leader of the firm’s Construction Group. Nailing Down the Law will focus on regional developments, and will also feature coverage of federal law, particularly federal construction procurement law, that impacts work in the region. Initial posts range from contract provisions limiting punitive damages to collecting interest on late payments for government projects to the impact on residential builders of a United States Supreme Court decision concerning class actions and statistical evidence.

“Decision-makers in the construction industry face numerous challenges in a constantly evolving field,” says Elliotte Quinn, an attorney in the Construction Group, “and we aim to make their jobs easier, reduce risks, and make them more profitable by providing timely, straightforward coverage of legal developments.”

Parker Poe’s construction practice serves a diverse group of clients representing all participants in the field including owners, developers, contractors, material suppliers, architects, engineers, construction managers, and surety/fidelity companies. The group’s attorneys provide consultation and assistance in the negotiation, preparation and review of contracts in addition to offering services in counseling and claim avoidance, dispute resolution and general business representation.
