Columbia, S.C. – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that Columbia special counsel Sidney Evering is the first recipient of the South Carolina Bar’s Diversity Spotlight. Sidney was recognized at the Bar’s recent Diversity Committee event, which was attended by more than 100 attorneys and included remarks by South Carolina Chief Justice Donald Beatty.
Sidney was nominated by his peers for the Diversity Spotlight, which the Bar created to recognize members of the legal community “at the forefront in striving to increase diversity within the profession.”
In Sidney’s nomination, attorneys described his contributions as Parker Poe’s director of diversity for seven years and the “instrumental” role he played in the creation of the Bar’s Diversity Committee. He has also won several awards, including the Southern Region Black Law Students Association Outstanding Alumni Award.
Sidney focuses his legal practice on the areas of public finance, economic development, and local government.
