Cindy Wittmer focuses her practice in the area of commercial litigation, with particular emphasis on business torts, intellectual property issues, contract procurement disputes, health care-related contract issues, and insurance defense. She has represented numerous clients in state and federal courts in North Carolina.

Representative Experience

  • Represented clients in business torts litigation involving claims of unfair competition, unfair trade practices, and fraud.
  • Handled numerous disputes relating to intellectual property and other protectable business interests, including enforcement of or challenge to covenants not to compete in connection with departing employees, actions involving the misuse of trade secrets or other proprietary business information, litigation to protect copyright or trademarks rights, and actions involving proprietary rights with regard to computer software.
  • Regularly represents both successful and unsuccessful bidders in disputes involving contracts awarded by the state or a municipality pursuant to a bid process.
  • Represented major health care provider groups on contract-related matters.
  • Routinely handles representation of various life and health insurers in interpleader actions, actions to rescind health or life insurance policies due to material misrepresentations, and actions involving insurance coverage issues.
