Elvira Nuñez defends employers and educational institutions against claims of discrimination and harassment. She focuses much of her practice on helping clients respond to investigations and lawsuits involving the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the U.S. Department of Education, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). She has also assisted with internal investigations, and she has reviewed employee handbooks and university and college policies and procedures for compliance with civil rights laws.
Prior to joining Parker Poe, Elvira was a judicial intern to the Honorable Albert Diaz on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. She was also an extern with the federal public defender for the Middle District of North Carolina. In law school at Wake Forest, she was a staff member for the Wake Forest Law Review and a board member on the Moot Court.
