Francis Ahia has advised clients on a wide range of commercial real estate transactions worth a total of more than $100 million. He represents telecommunication, health care, and energy companies, as well as public and private businesses in commercial closings, complex transactions, and leasing negotiations.
Francis has particular experience in the acquisition and management of commercial assets, and frequently assists his clients with the purchasing, licensing, and disposition of their real property. On behalf of his clients, he navigates and negotiates through the entire life cycle of a project, from drafting the contract to closing the deal. Additionally, he frequently advises his healthcare industry clients on various compliance and regulatory issues.
Prior to joining Parker Poe, Francis served in-house as an associate corporate counsel for a privately owned national commercial real estate company based in Raleigh. He earned his law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law, where he won the school’s Moot Court Negotiations competition and was published four times in the North Carolina Journal of Law & Technology. He received his undergraduate degree from Thiel College in Pennsylvania, where he graduated as the all-time leader in assists for both the men's lacrosse and soccer teams.
Francis is a dual citizen of the United States and France, speaks French fluently, and enjoys chess, fishing, and Greek mythology.
