Neal Cook represents institutional lenders, servicers, finance companies, and borrowers in a variety of financing transactions, including securitized loans, syndicated financings, construction and permanent real estate loans, asset-based loans, and loan workouts and restructurings. He has extensive knowledge in the areas of commercial real estate finance and development, commercial leasing, and corporate transactions. He is the former head of Parker Poe’s Banking & Capital Markets Practice Group.

While at Wake Forest University, Neal was the articles editor of the Wake Forest Law Review and a member of the Moot Court Board.

Representative Experience

  • Represented mortgage loan portfolio servicers in connection with single-site and multi-site loan assumptions, as well as consent, real estate mortgage investment conduit (REMIC), and general compliance issues.
  • Represented lenders and borrowers in secured and unsecured working capital, term, acquisition, and other credit facilities.
  • Originated commercial construction loans.
  • Represented bank syndicates in secured and unsecured credit facilities, including acquisition, term, letter of credit, and working capital facilities.
  • Coordinated financings and real estate transfers in connection with mergers and acquisitions.
  • Negotiated loan workouts and the restructuring of existing loans.
