The law firm of Parker, Poe, Adams & Bernstein L.L.P. is pleased to announce the addition of three attorneys in our Columbia office. James L. Werner has joined the firm as a partner, Farah Rodenberger has joined the firm as special counsel and Michael E. Kozlarek has joined the firm as an associate. Mr. Werner, Ms. Rodenberger and Mr. Kozlarek are members of the Commercial Contracts group.
Mr. Werner concentrates his practice in the area of construction litigation, environmental, governmental, and employment litigation. Mr. Werner works with fidelity and surety companies in the construction world. Mr. Werner received his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1982 and his A.B. from Duke University in 1979. Prior to joining Parker Poe, Mr. Werner was a founding partner at Ellzey & Brooks in Columbia.
Ms. Rodenberger concentrates her practice in the areas of construction, environmental, toxic tort, surety, and insurance litigation. Ms. Rodenberger received her J.D. from the Fordham University School of Law in 1994. She received her A.B. in the field of biochemistry from Columbia University in 1988 and her M.P.A in the field of health care policy from New York University in 1991. Prior to joining Parker Poe, Ms. Rodenberger practiced with Ellzey & Brooks in Columbia.
Mr. Kozlarek concentrates his practice primarily in the areas of construction and commercial contract litigation. Mr. Kozlarek received his A.B. from Princeton University in 1997 and his Master of Criminal Justice (2000), Master of International Business Studies, (German Language Track, 2001) and J.D. (2001) from the University of South Carolina. Mr. Kozlarek received a German Certificate of Proficiency from Carls Duisberg Gesellschaft e.V., Cologne, Germany in 2000. Prior to joining Parker Poe, Mr. Kozlarek practiced with Battle & Vaught in Conway and served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable William L. Howard, Sr. at the South Carolina Court of Appeals.
