Tracy Kimbrell was honored at the annual N.C. State Alumni Association dinner as the Outstanding Young Alumna for 2008.
Tracy, who received a B.A., magna cum laude, from N.C. State in 2002, was chosen for the award by a nominating committee. She accepted the award at the Alumni Association dinner in front of more than 250 attendees.
“I was surprised and very humbled to receive the award,” Tracy said, “recognizing that it has far more to do with the good work of the Young Alumni Council than anything I have done personally.”
Parker Poe attorneys Renee Montgomery and Robb Leandro also attended the event.
“Tracy has organized a new board of younger alumni and has contributed in many other ways to the University,” Renee said. “Robb and I were very pleased to be able to be there to share in this great occasion.”
Tracy has been with Parker Poe for more than three years and has a long history with the University. In addition to serving as President of the Young Alumni Council, she is also a member of the N.C. State Alumni Association Board of Directors.
“N.C. State has profoundly impacted my life and career,” Tracy said. “My father was a Vice Chancellor at N.C. State, so I had the good fortune of growing up in the N.C. State family. From that unique vantage point, I observed the overwhelming service and generosity of N.C. State alumni and friends. And, as a result, I was inspired to pursue my own avenues of service. I owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to the visionary N.C. State leaders who have inspired me, challenged me and offered me their unwavering support.”
Tracy, an associate in the Regulatory Department, concentrates her practice in the areas of government relations, administrative law, economic development and municipal matters.
