The University of North Carolina School of Law honored Mac McCarley, a Partner in Parker Poe’s Charlotte office, with the Distinguished Alumni Award. Mr. McCarley, along with two other recipients, was presented with the award at the school’s annual Law Alumni Weekend Leadership and Awards Dinner.

"It is a singular honor to be nominated by one’s peers and then to be selected by the Law Alumni Association Executive Committee for these awards," said John Charles "Jack" Boger ’74, dean and Wade Edwards Distinguished Professor of Law. “We have many distinguished alumni, and it is a delight to recognize a selection of them during Law Alumni Weekend.”

Mr. McCarley received his JD (’77) and his BA (’74) from the University of North Carolina. He concentrates his practice in advising local governments and private sector clients in regulatory and public policy matters. Prior to joining Parker Poe, Mr. McCarley served as City Attorney for the City of Charlotte for 17 years.
