(March 5, 2013)–Jennifer K. Dunlap, a Partner in Parker Poe’s Employment and Benefits Practice Group, has been selected to the Charleston Regional Business Journal’s 2013 “40 Under 40” list, which recognizes rising young business leaders in the Charleston area. The winners will be honored at an awards presentation on April 11 at Alhambra Hall, and will be profiled in the publication’s April 22 print edition.

Ms. Dunlap has been with Parker Poe since 2006 and is the head of the Firm’s South Carolina Employment team. She focuses her practice on employment litigation and counsels clients in all areas of employment law.

In 2012, Ms. Dunlap was named a South Carolina Super Lawyers “Rising Star.” As a result of her experience with employment-related legal matters, the South Carolina Bar asked her to prepare an online distance learning program about employment law. In 2012, she spoke at an event hosted by the South Carolina Society for Human Resource Management on the rights of employees who currently serve or have previously served in the armed forces.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Ms. Dunlap is a leader in the community. She and several Parker Poe colleagues implemented a quarterly networking series for women professionals in the Charleston area. She is also a dedicated member of the Junior League of Charleston and has volunteered numerous hours supporting the organization’s mission of combating hunger and homelessness in the area.

“Jenni has poise and determination that are obvious to anyone she meets,” said Bobby Byrd, Managing Partner of Parker Poe’s Charleston office. “She is looked to as a leader in the Charleston office and within her practice group because of her proven success as a lawyer and the work she’s done for the betterment of the legal profession and her community.”

Ms. Dunlap received her JD from Vanderbilt University in 2000 and her BA from Southern Methodist University in 1997, where she graduated magna cum laude.
