(RALEIGH, N.C.)—Matthew W. Wolfe, an attorney in the Raleigh office of Parker Poe, was selected to participate in the 2013–2014 Leadership Raleigh class, a program sponsored by The Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.
One of the most highly recognized leadership development programs of its kind, Leadership Raleigh provides participants with the opportunity to meet and discuss issues with key community leaders. Participants study the qualities that make an effective leader, analyze individual leadership roles and develop personal leadership styles and skills. They are then challenged to apply their talents by joining professional associations, civic clubs, public boards and commissions. Applicants must show demonstrated leadership ability and/or potential, community interest and involvement and the desire to assume expanded community responsibility.
Mr. Wolfe is a member of Parker Poe’s Health Care, Regulatory and Government Relations teams, and practices in the areas of administrative litigation, government relations and health care policy and law. He formulates comprehensive political and public relations strategies on a broad range of federal and state policies. Mr. Wolfe drafts and monitors legislation, intervenes directly with legislative, executive and local officials, and appears before state and federal executive agencies. He regularly advises and counsels health care providers subject to federal and state regulatory actions. Mr. Wolfe also litigates cases in federal and state courts and the North Carolina Office of Administrative Hearings.
Before joining Parker Poe, Mr. Wolfe served as a law clerk for the Honorable James C. Dever III in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. Prior to law school and graduate school, Mr. Wolfe was a teacher in New Orleans through Teach for America. He also served as a legislative aide in the British House of Commons, worked for the campaign of former Representative Tom Reynolds (R-NY), and worked in the Communications Section of the National Republican Congressional Committee under former Representative Tom Davis (R-Va).
Mr. Wolfe received his JD and Master of Public Policy in 2008 from Duke University and his BA, cum laude, in 2003 from the University of Rochester.
