Sidney Evering Elected to South Carolina Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors

Columbia, SC – Sidney Evering, Special Counsel in Parker Poe’s Columbia office and the firm’s Director of Diversity, has been elected to serve on the 2015-2016 Board of Directors of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce. Sidney will also be serving as Chair of the Chamber’s Legislative Agenda Task Force. The Legislative Agenda Task Force helps identify, develop and monitor a business agenda package that ensures pro-business legislation moves forward at the state house.

Sidney Evering focuses his practice on the areas of public finance, economic development and local government. Prior to joining Parker Poe, Mr. Evering spent four years as an attorney with the South Carolina Association of Counties, where he advised counties statewide on various legal issues and lobbied on behalf of the Association and its member counties.

Mr. Evering serves as the Director of Diversity for the firm. In this role, he works closely with Parker Poe’s Diversity Committee to promote and facilitate a working environment of inclusion, respect and opportunity for all employees through education, special initiatives, and hiring and retention practices.
