Charlotte, NC – Mary Katherine Stukes, partner in Parker Poe’s Charlotte office and a member of the Board of Directors for Community Link, helped the organization fundraise at its recent annual Sweet Escapes Gala held at the Mint Museum Randolph. As the Marketing & Development Committee Co-Chair, Ms. Stukes and the Community Link gala event raised over $130,000 for area programs.
Community Link is a local nonprofit organization aiding individuals and families with securing affordable housing and building better futures. Highlights from the gala include:
- Guests enjoying over 500 pounds of chocolate, including unique chocolate sculptures, cakes, truffles, tarts, and over-the-top edible art.
- A silent auction, featuring chocolate diamond jewelry.
- Official chocolate and culinary partner for the event, Central Piedmont Community College’s (CPCC’s) Baking & Pastry Arts Club, with additional participation from The Secret Chocolatier, Potts Chocolate, Southern Cake Queen, and Dessert Fetish.
- Event sponsors including Crowder Construction, Fifth Third Bank, PNC Bank, Piedmont Natural Gas, the Charlotte Observer, and Parker Poe.
