Raleigh, N.C. – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that Jonathan Hall has been appointed chair of the Product Liability Practice Group within the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys (NCADA). Jonathan served as vice chair last year and will take over as chair for the 2018-2019 term.
As chair, Jonathan will provide leadership on professional development, networking, and communications opportunities for NCADA members focused on product liability. The NCADA has approximately 900 attorneys and paralegals who represent businesses and individuals in civil litigation. Its Product Liability Practice Group represents manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, and retailers, and it provides continuing education and updates on legislative issues.
Jonathan has nearly 25 years of jury trial experience in cases involving wrongful death, catastrophic injuries, and other high-exposure losses and claims. He has tried civil lawsuits in state and federal courts across North Carolina, having taken close to 75 cases to jury verdicts over the course of his career. He also has vast experience in alternative dispute resolution.
In his product liability practice, Jonathan represents manufacturers and retailers of products and components, including industrial equipment, durable medical equipment, children’s toys, automobiles, and trucks. In addition to defending clients against lawsuits, he counsels manufacturers to develop preventive strategies through product warnings and marketing tools geared toward minimizing exposure and avoiding claims prior to bringing a product to the marketplace.
Jonathan also chairs a specialized litigation group within the Defense Research Institute, which is a leading international organization of defense attorneys and in-house counsel. Jonathan chairs its Products Liability Section’s Trial Techniques & Technology Specialized Litigation Group.
