Amy's op-ed described her grandmother's personal background with credit unions and a scare she experienced related to a financial scam. From there, Amy explained how credit unions "are uniquely positioned to lead the way in adopting policies and practices to help older adults avoid being victimized and become comfortable asking questions or seeking help when targeted." She then walked through several questions the financial institutions should consider for those policies and practices.
