Matt Wolfe was quoted in Home Health Care News on what a federal proposal related to the coronavirus outbreak would mean for the home health industry.
Lawmakers in Congress have introduced several bills that would create new requirements for employers concerning paid sick leave. Matt explained that some of those could have unintended consequences for home health providers.
"“While well-intentioned, unfunded mandates on employers tend to shift costs to consumers,” Matt said. “But home health, home care and hospice providers largely dependent on governmental payers like Medicare and Medicaid do not have the ability to shift costs … to consumers. The result is that these providers are squeezed.”
