The law firm of Parker, Poe, Adams & Bernstein L.L.P. is pleased to announce that five of our attorneys and five of our practice areas have been included in the Chambers USA: Guide to American’s Leading Business Lawyers.

The Chambers USA list, published by Chambers & Partners, is the only legal directory to rank lawyers and law firms. Chambers researchers conducted in-depth interviews with over 7,000 leading private practice attorneys and key in-house counsel. The research was conducted by a team of 40 researchers over a period of eight months. The rankings are based on technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial awareness/astuteness, diligence, commitment, and other qualities most valued by the client.

The following practice areas have been included in the Chambers USA list:
Banking & Finance – recognized as "one of the leading bond counsel firms in the state."
Employment: Defendant – a "rising force in the North Carolina marketplace" and "a fast, efficient outfit that builds up very good client relationships."
Environmental – the ability to "cover all the bases excellently, offering a great depth of service."
Litigation: General Commercial – "an experienced litigation outfit, fast, efficient and sensitive to cultural differences."
Real Estate – "major business acquisitions and developments in the office, retail and residential sectors are the backbone of this practice."

Five Parker Poe attorneys have been listed in the Chambers USA list:
Donald P. Ubell (Banking & Finance), described as a "business counselor as well as a lawyer."
Keith M. Weddington (Employment: Defendant), "a smart and sharply efficient lawyer."
Thomas N. Griffin, III (Environmental), praised for his calm style and described as "the ultimate proof that a lawyer can get exactly what he wants without resorting to banging his fist on the table and screaming."
William L. Rikard (Litigation: General Commercial), "a dogged advocate" and one who is "respected for his commercial, employment and trade secrets work."
Robert W. Spearman (Litigation: General Commercial), noted for his "accomplished trial skills."
