Parker Poe Attorney Named to Charlotte Business Journal's 40 Under 40

The law firm of Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP announced today that William L. Esser IV has been recognized by the Charlotte Business Journal among the 40 Under 40 Leadership Awards for 2009. Each year, the weekly business newspaper honors 40 people under the age of 40 for their community and professional achievements.

Mr. Esser serves on the Firm’s Pro Bono Committee where he coordinates Parker Poe’s representation of landlord/tenant matters and estate files through Legal Aid of North Carolina and Legal Services of the Southern Piedmont. In addition, he currently serves as president of Room at the Inn, Inc. where in the past year he has worked on its capital campaign to build the nation’s first college-based maternity and after-care residential facility.

Mr. Esser, a partner in the Firm’s Litigation Department, represents clients in state and federal court litigation and arbitration. He focuses his practice primarily on commercial litigation, bankruptcy and creditors' rights and foreclosure and loan servicing litigation.

Mr. Esser was named a North Carolina Super Lawyers Rising Star in Business Litigation, 2009. A member of the Communications Committee of the Mecklenburg County Bar, Mr. Esser serves on the Board of Alumni, Belmont Abbey College and Board of Visitors, Ave Maria School of Law.

Mr. Esser is a graduate of Belmont Abbey College (B.A., summa cum laude, 1995) and the University of Notre Dame (J.D., magna cum laude, 1999).
