(COLUMBIA, S.C.)—Longtime economic development leader Mark G. Simmons will be joining Parker Poe Consulting as a Principal, heading up the company’s Economic Development Division, according to an announcement made today by the Parker Poe law firm.
A native of Columbia and summa cum laude graduate of Clemson University (BA and MS in city and regional planning), Simmons has more than 25 years’ experience in the economic development field, most recently serving as the executive vice president for the Central South Carolina Alliance. During his career, Simmons has been directly involved in assisting in the recruitment and expansion of industries which have accounted for over $11 billion in new capital investment and the creation of over 75,000 new jobs.
