(CHARLOTTE, N.C.) – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that Hector Ibarra, an associated professional with the Firm’s Charlotte office, graduated from the Arts & Science Council’s (ASC) Cultural Leadership Training (CLT) Program earlier this month.
The CLT Program is designed to identify emerging leaders and help them develop into productive volunteers and board candidates for cultural organizations in the Charlotte community.
“With the graduation of the 2012-13 class, we have placed nearly 250 graduates of this program in board or committee leadership roles with local arts and cultural organizations, and we are so proud that this program continues to identify, cultivate and engage such a passionate and committed volunteer leadership base for our cultural community,” said Katherine Mooring, ASC's Vice President of Cultural & Community Investment.
Program participants completed a nine-month course with educational sessions and cultural events and programs, to gain a deeper understanding of the cultural landscape in Charlotte-Mecklenburg. Graduates will be placed with a community cultural organization as either a one-year apprentice or as a full-term board member. Mr. Ibarra is in the process of determining which organization he will join.
Mr. Ibarra has been with Parker Poe for ten years and works with the Tax Group assisting with economic development and international client matters. He earned his LLM in International and Comparative Law from Duke University and his JD from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, where he graduated summa cum laude.
