The American Lawyer detailed how Parker Poe teamed up with clients to host a Legal Lean Sigma course in Charlotte. The two-day course taught Parker Poe's executive team, several attorneys and clients how to increase efficiencies, applying process improvement and project management skills geared specifically for the legal profession. The American Lawyer is the leading news source covering legal business, law firms and lawyers across the U.S. and around the world.

Charlotte partner Keith Weddington took part in the course and said that even with the time commitment, it was an easy sell for the two clients he invited.

"In the post-recession economy, legal departments have been pressed by financial departments to do more with less—and to increase efficiency and predictability," Keith told The American Lawyer. "It struck us as a way to meet our clients where they are."

The course is a signature part of Parker Poe's TeamUP initiative this year. It grew out of the Parker Poe Path, the firm's annual program that aims to deepen relationships integral to client development.
