Profile

Sam Woodard has extensive experience in representing large lending institutions in commercial real estate financing transactions, including syndicated lending and in commercial lending transactions. In addition, he has represented a number of major commercial real estate developers and lenders in the development and financing of several large real estate projects. Mr. Woodard also serves as general counsel to a number of the Firm's corporate clients.

Experience Highlights

Significant projects on which Mr. Woodard has served as lead counsel include:

  • Representing the national bank developer of a new high-rise office tower in uptown Charlotte with adjoining retail space and parking garage and four contiguous cultural facilities buildings developed for the City of Charlotte
  • Representing the lead lender on several syndicated credit facilities for the development of off-campus college apartment projects throughout the U.S.
  • Representing the developers of two of the new high-rise office towers in uptown Charlotte, including the land acquisition, construction and permanent financing, development and construction and leasing
  • Representing the developer of a major regional shopping center, including land acquisition, construction and permanent financing, development and construction, anchor site leasing and outparcel sales
  • Representing lenders in providing construction and term financing for office, retail and industrial real estate projects
  • Representing developers and owners of real estate projects in permanent financing transactions with institutional lenders as well as dispositions of projects
