Sherry Culves wrote an article in the Daily Report about how employers can mitigate risk when disciplining employees with protected status. 

"Determining how best to discipline a protected employee and dealing with any ensuing claims can be costly, time consuming, and slow down business — especially when they involve an underperforming or culturally toxic employee," Sherry wrote.
