Dakota Lipscombe concentrates his practice on construction litigation. He has experience resolving construction, commercial real estate, and broader business disputes. Dakota has prepared and negotiated construction contracts, including custom agreements tailored to clients' specific needs, and has assisted clients with lien claims, licensing issues, and construction payment disputes across North Carolina. He has represented owners, general contractors, and subcontractors.
Dakota has helped clients through cases involving alleged negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, unfair or deceptive trade practices, fraud, and breach of contract. Earlier in his practice, he represented homeowners' associations and municipal clients in litigation and other disputes.
Dakota earned his law degree from UNC-Chapel Hill, where he served as an articles editor for the North Carolina Journal of Law & Technology. He received his Master of Public Policy and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia.
Outside of work, Dakota enjoys exploring the best coffee shops in Raleigh, reading historical biographies, and distance running.
