Jeff King has nearly 30 years of experience helping companies achieve their commercial real estate goals, including as in-house counsel. His clients include developers, buyers, sellers, landlords, and tenants. They turn to him to expand and manage multistate commercial property portfolios, including structuring and negotiating transactions and multi-year retail and industrial leases.  

Prior to joining Parker Poe, Jeff was the senior real estate counsel for a large regional supermarket chain. In that role, he successfully negotiated lease agreements for over 60 new grocery store locations and over 35 new retail fuel locations in multiple states. He also drafted, reviewed, and negotiated lease amendments, purchase and sale agreements, declarations and restrictive covenants, easements, and development agreements. He played a key role in analyzing due diligence materials for a variety of real property transactions. 

Jeff began his legal career as a private practice attorney, advising developers and other commercial property owners on drafting and negotiating retail leases and subleases as well as handling long-term office space leases for commercial tenants. 

Jeff earned his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center, where he served as managing editor of the Houston Law Review. He earned a bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University.
