Kat Brockett focuses her practice on litigation, compliance, and transactions in the health care industry. She has represented insurance, health care, and government entities in litigation and appellate proceedings involving long-term care, transportation, medical malpractice, and employment-related claims. Her broader litigation experience includes commercial disputes and governmental liability. She has also advised clients on compliance and transactional issues in an outside general counsel capacity.
Kat served as a judicial intern to Judge Deah B. Warren of the Superior Court of Douglas County. As a legal intern with Voices for Georgia’s Children, she conducted legal and policy research on juvenile justice health care issues.
Kat earned her law degree from Emory University School of Law, where she served as director of competition logistics for the Emory Moot Court Society and as a student attorney in the Barton Child Law and Policy Clinic. Through the clinic, she researched child welfare impact litigation and consent decrees. She also represented Emory at the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna, Austria. She received her bachelor’s degree from Florida State University.
