Matt Couch focuses his practice on health care litigation and dispute resolution. He is part of a team that represents hospitals, health systems, and other providers in a wide range of litigation in state and federal courts, as well as proceedings before administrative and regulatory agencies. His experience includes drafting pleadings and dispositive motions, managing discovery, conducting legal research on complex issues, and helping clients develop practical strategies toward resolution.
Before joining Parker Poe, Matt was a litigation associate at a national law firm, where he represented clients in commercial, civil, and employment disputes. He previously served as a judicial extern to a district court judge in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina.
Matt earned his law degree from Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, where he served as an articles editor for the Campbell Law Review. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and son, traveling, and cheering on the Carolina Panthers.
