Mike Stover helps clients in the construction industry resolve disputes and protect their interests throughout the project lifecycle. He represents owners, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, and others in the industry in construction defect claims and other litigation.

Mike has experience at every stage of litigation, including drafting pleadings and dispositive motions, conducting depositions, managing discovery, and negotiating settlements. He also draws on experience defending claims tied to product failures, vehicle design, and negligence — giving him a broad litigation skill set when construction issues intersect with other areas of liability.

Prior to his law career, Mike served for nearly two decades in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, including multiple deployments and leadership roles in logistics and foreign military advising. He led and managed multinational exercises in Australia, Latvia, Morocco, Senegal, and Germany. He is also committed to serving his community, including through board service on the Columbia-based education nonprofit City Year.

Before joining Parker Poe, Mike was a litigator in the Columbia office for one of the world's 60 largest law firms. He was consistently named to the South Carolina Supreme Court Pro Bono Honor Roll.

Mike earned his law degree from the University of South Carolina, where he was associate editor in chief of the South Carolina Law Review and president of the Service Members & Veterans in Law Society. He earned his undergraduate degree from The Citadel in Charleston.
