Rachel Boyd is part of a team of attorneys who advise a range of health care and life sciences clients, taking a big-picture approach to the challenges and opportunities companies face.
Prior to joining Parker Poe, Rachel represented and advised national and local companies on complex business disputes, employment issues, and premises liability. In that role, she negotiated settlements, drafted and argued motions in North Carolina state and federal courts, and analyzed business and employment contracts.
Rachel served as a law clerk for the Honorable Joseph N. Callaway in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. She was also an intern with the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee.
She earned her law degree from Wake Forest University, where she served as notes and comments editor for the Wake Forest Journal of Business and Intellectual Property Law. She also served as a teaching assistant for many classes, including business organizations and appellate advocacy. While studying for her undergraduate degree at East Tennessee State University, Rachel served as president of the Pre-Law Society.
Rachel is a classically trained opera singer and abstract art painter. She enjoys golf, tennis, and giving back to her community through volunteering.
