The law firm of Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein L.L.P. is pleased to announce that James A. Thomas has joined the firm as a partner in its Raleigh office. Mr. Thomas’s practice is focused on intellectual property matters, including trademark and copyright law. He also regularly advises clients in the areas of internet and domain name law, licensing and business transactions, and life sciences and biotechnology law.
Mr. Thomas brings to the firm nearly 18 years of experience in intellectual property law, including ten years working in the U.S. and European headquarters for GlaxoSmithKline, where he handled licensing, business transactions, and all aspects of U.S. and international trademark and copyright law.
Mr. Thomas received his J.D. magna cum laude from Duke University School of Law (1987) and his A.B. magna cum laude from Asbury College (1984). Mr. Thomas is admitted to the North Carolina, Georgia and District of Columbia state bars.
Among his many community endeavors, Mr. Thomas serves as President of the Triangle Chapter of the British American Business Council.
