The law firm of Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that James N. Greene III has become a Partner in the Firm’s Charlotte office. Mr. Greene will also lead the Firm’s Tax Practice Group.

Mr. Greene’s experience includes advising clients on the U.S. federal and North Carolina state income tax aspects of corporate mergers and acquisitions, real estate acquisitions and dispositions, corporate reorganizations and joint ventures. Mr. Greene has significant experience with Section 1031 like-kind exchanges. His practice also includes advising clients on the aspects of U.S. federal partnership taxation, and he regularly works with the legal and tax aspects of limited liability companies (LLCs), including the preparation of limited liability company operating agreements.
Mr. Greene is certified as a public accountant by the North Carolina State Board of Certified Public Accountant Examiners. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Greene worked with a Big Four accounting firm for several years. He is the co-author of The Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001 - Recent Tax Changes and is a frequent speaker at seminars on limited liability companies and Section 1031 like-kind exchanges.
Mr. Greene received his J.D., with honors, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1999) and his B.S., magna cum laude, from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (1993).
